Retail Store Manager

 

Purpose of Role

To manage all aspects of the retail operation in Rodeo Drive and ensure that brand strategy, sales targets and customer expectations are met across the store.

 Responsibilities Developing the business, maintaining leadership in the market

  • To ensure that sales targets are achieved, monitoring individual and overall store performance. 
  • Optimise the flagship store’s commercial performance by identifying business opportunities/ initiatives to improve sales, minimise losses, and promote new products.
  • Develop strong relations with stylists, personal shoppers, and non-competitor luxury brands to gain access to new clients.
  • To personally have excellent jewellery and product knowledge and to be able to sell and provide first class customer service
  • Be knowledgeable and aware of market trends and competitors, analysing and recommending areas for the business development and improvement
  • Capture full client data for both enquiring and buying clients and manage high quality CRM to generate sales.
  • Ensure best sellers are always in stock.
  • To manage stock levels ensuring proactive sell through of older/non active collections through specific initiatives, approved by Managing Director.

 

 Managing Store Operations

  • Lead the management of the flagship store, ensuring daily operations and functions are carried out in line with company policies and procedures.  Ensure that stock management, visual merchandising, reporting, SAP transactions are all conducted in a proficient and timely manner to maximise operational and sales performance.
  • To develop and implement new policies and procedures where necessary
  • Ensure the highest standards are applied and maintained at all times across the store in the presentation/merchandising, product handing, customer service and administrative activities.
  • To ensure that appropriate standards of safety and security are implemented across the retail team to maximise the security and safety of staff, customers and company property
  • To complete and maintain staff rotas to ensure adequate staff resourcing
  • Submit accurate daily sales data in the requested format, providing detailed commentary of the day’s activity including footfall, product feedback etc.
  • To work with the Finance team to manage the budgets and ensure cost control measures are in place.
  • To work with the Marketing/PR team to support all retail based events as appropriate
  • To proactively organise and oversee any necessary store maintenance / refurbishment work ensuring the store is always presented to the highest standard.
  • To be key point of contact for ‘Two Rodeo Drive’ team

 

 Communicating, managing and developing the team

  • To provide leadership amongst the team, ensuring a positive team spirit, keeping the team motivated to achieve business objectives
  • To have weekly communication with retail, wholesale, marketing/PR teams to gain company wide information and promote staff collaboration
  • To communicate with the Managing Director on all appropriate issues including staff underperformance; providing accurate information and recommendations where appropriate
  • Ensure retail team have sufficient knowledge and understanding of sales techniques, customer services, policies and procedures and product to enable them to undertake their roles effectively.
  • To organise frequent internal product training sessions to ensure the retail team are fully competent with product materials, concepts and inspiration. To organise external training workshops where appropriate.
  • In conjunction with the HR Manager, evaluate and develop the retail team, maximising individual potential and succession planning through SMART objective setting.
  • To ensure all HR policies and procedures are implemented and all issues are resolved appropriately

 

 Be an ambassador for the brand

  • Build and develop clientele loyalty, including support of Client events and initiatives, working in conjunction with the Marketing/PR department and in line with the expected Stephen Webster brand image
  • Represent the brand in public/store events and activities in order to promote the correct Stephen Webster image, brand and products
  • Maintain a high standard of own behaviour, conduct and dress code to encourage high standards within the team.
